You must be aware of the show “The Greatest Indian” after Mahatma Gandhi which was launched by History Channel in association with

CNN-IBN. It has certainly created an interest among Indian users in India. The Greatest Indian will be chosen through three modes which is online voting, Market research and Jury Selection. The process of selection as given on History Channel website is below. If you want to know the complete process of How The Greatest Indian will be decided the visit here.

On 25th June first phase of voting will end and top ten nomination will be selected. Today is 22nd June and till now ranking is like:

What is most important point in online voting is the first two nominee Who are Dr B R Ambedkar and Dr A P J Kalam are way ahead of other nominees. It is really interesting to see that our former PM Indira Gandhi is at tenth position with some 20k + votes. The top three candidates has certainly out smarted in online votes.

Salman Khan is the brand ambassador of History Channel and he launched the Show in late Feb 2012. As per him an actor or a sport’s person can’t be a Greatest Indian. He said that just because you are very Good in your profession doesn’t qualify you to be the Greatest Indian and his reason is quite reasonable. When asked by Press whom he thinks as the Greatest Indian his answer was Mother Teresa. Salman Khan himself is known for his philanthropic work and love for weaker section’s of society in India.

The program name need to be correct . Who is the greatest indian since Mahatma . I dont think Mr. Gandhi is mahatma at all . he was the dirty politition .
