Jaspal Bhatti a name synonymous with Laughter and comedy particularly with Doordarshan generation has lost his life in a road accident in Jalandhar. He was on a promotional tour of his upcoming movie Power Cut which will be released tomorrow.
His mini capsules Ulta Pulta and Flop Show on Doordarshan in late 1980s and early 1990s catapulted the status of Jaspal Bhatti as one of the most respected and recognized name among the Indian audience. He never became the part of the revolution on small screen. He was a legend and his sudden death has caused pain to many.
Jaspal Bhatti was an electrical engineer from Punjab Engineering College. He has worked as Cartoonist for The Tribune Newspaper in Chandigarh before venturing in to TV.
