Google has announced that Motorola Mobility Deal is Closed

Larry Page posted on the official blog of Google that “ I’m excited to announce today that our Motorola Mobility deal has closed”. Google acquired Motorola Mobility last year at a price of $40 per share costing $12.5 billion.

Google acquired Motorola Mobility for two reasons exactly.

1. To create an inhouse integrated ecosystem for Android.

2. 17000 patents of Motorola Mobility will play a huge role to safeguard Google interests.

Sanjay Jha CEO of Motorola Mobility has stepped down as CEO and Dennis Woodside a long time Google will take over as CEO. The announcement on Google official blog also did the required PR job for the new CEO of Motorola Mobility. We can say that Motorola Mobility suddenly has become the hottest tech company because Google own’s it. Motorola Mobility is the platform thorough which Google will take on Apple head on  from hardware to software.

Larry Page has pointed towards a very interesting insight about technology “ people tend to overestimate the impact technology will have in the short term, but underestimate its significance in the longer term”. He continues with an assumption that “many users coming online today may never use a Desktop machine and that transition will be profound. Those people who will never use desktop again will use smartphone and Tablets to be online. At last Larry Concluded “that’s why it is a great time to be in mobile business”.
