India’s First telecom incubator Startup Village is coming up in Kochi

India’s first telecom incubator called Startup Village is coming up in Kochi set in KINFRA Park at Kalamassery.

It will be based on public-private-partnership(PPM) mode and will be inaugurated by Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnanin on Sunday 15 April 2012

It will support new product initiatives from students such that it can be turned into successful business and would be modeled on technology incubators in the Silicon Valley.

The National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB),
the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, Technopark and MobME Wireless have joined hands to set up this Startup Village

Startup Village aims for 1,000 product startups over next 10 years.

Startup Village will create a vibrant ecosystem for startups to create breakthrough technologies for the global telecom industry

Startup Village will provide full infrastructure for the students ,Startup Village campus will have a 4G network, advanced Telecom labs and will also provide all services including Legal, Intellectual Property and Accounting. students will have facilities such as fully furnished office space and video conference rooms that are required for a start-up company.

It will function in association with leading companies in the telecom sector, through Telecom Innovation Zones,
that bring the latest technology platforms and products to startups in the incubator before being released commercially.
